Toyota GR Cup Spain: Losada and Álvarez win in Jerez
09 Oct 2025
The Toyota GR Cup Spain was at Circuit de Jerez Ángel Nieto from 19th to 21st September. Throughout the entire event, the track in Andalucia basked in temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius, which the Hankook Ventus Race mastered without any issues. The heat was also on in the races, as the drivers treated spectators in the grandstands to two entertaining contests in their Toyota GR86 cars. Daniel Losada came out on top in the opening race of the weekend. The Spaniard started from fourth place and took advantage of the reliable grip of the Hankook tyre all race. He climbed into second place at the start, before getting to grips with race leader Tomás Pregliasco (Hungary). Midway through the race, he pulled off a successful overtake to move into the lead, and never looked back. On Sunday, Spain’s Luis Álvarez produced a flawless drive from pole position, supported by the high stability of the Hankook tyre, on which he took a commanding victory. Losada travels as championship leader to the next event at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste. This is the venue for the season finale from 17th to 19th October, when the new champion will be crowned.
