Hagay and Gott extend their lead at the top of the table in the Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring
09 Oct 2025
No fewer than 141 cars started the penultimate round of this season’s Rundstrecken Challenge Nürburgring (RCN) on 28th September. In mild temperatures and sunny conditions, the goal in the popular grassroots series was once again to produce fast and, more importantly, consistent lap times. The many drivers were supported in their quest by the Hankook Ventus Race, which provided reliable grip conditions on the combination of the Nürburgring Grand Prix Circuit and the legendary Nordschleife. For 15 laps, spectators at the circuit enjoyed entertaining motorsport with a wide range of different car classes. The winners of the “Preis der Erftquelle” event were Germans Michael and Markus Schmickler from Schmickler Performance in a BMW M4 GT4. They were followed by David Vogt in an Opel Astra TCR, ahead of Mario Fuchs and Eugen Weber (all Germany), who finished third in a Mitsubishi Lancer. Next up on 25th October is the season finale, which is one of the highlights of the year. After seven regularity tests, fans at the racetrack can look forward to drama in a regular three-hour race, in which the Hankook tyres will provide the necessary stability in the many thrilling battles. Moran Gott and Farran Hagay travel to the final showdown as championship leaders with an advantage of 3.21 points. The Israeli duo won the R2A class – the biggest field at the event – for the sixth time this year, and with it picked up the largest number of points.
