High drama in Eurocup-3 at the Royal Park in Monza

31 Jul 2025

The fourth race of the Eurocup-3 season developed into a thrilling battle at the top of the table. Mexico’s Ernesto Rivera produced a slick performance to win a Saturday race with multiple safety car phases, leveraging the good performance of his Hankook tyres - especially in the restart duels - to claim the overall championship lead at the Royal Park. Astute tactics from Mattia Colnaghi saw him claim victory in Sunday’s sprint race, finishing ahead of his compatriot Valerio Rinicella to complete an Italian one-two. Colnaghi managed to maintain the optimum temperature window for the Hankook Ventus Race as he fended off some energetic attacks from Rinicella to move within four points of Rivera. These results mean that the battle for the title is as close as ever, with plenty of excitement on the horizon at Assen (Netherlands) from 8th to 10th August.
