Hankook Competition shines at the Nürburgring 24 Hours

03 Jul 2025

Hankook Competition impressed at the legendary 24-hour race at the Nürburgring from 19th to 22nd June, producing a flawless display to finish a fine ninth overall. Against the impressive backdrop of 280,000 spectators, who made the pilgrimage to the Green Hell over the course of the weekend, the international quartet of drivers – Jongkyum Kim from Korea, Dutchman Roelof Bruins, Marco Holzer from Germany and Canada’s Steven Cho – emphatically demonstrated their stamina and racing intelligence. Starting from 22nd on the grid, the team in the Porsche 911 GT3 R used the consistently high grip level of the premium Hankook tyre to work their way through the field. In the end, they came home fourth in the fiercely-competitive ProAm class for GT3 cars. In summery conditions, with temperatures around 30 degrees Celsius and only just dropping below 20 degrees in the night, the Hankook Ventus Race provided reliable stability in battles for position in every stint on the demanding Nordschleife. Hankook was also a prominent feature of the support programme: Roughly 190 cars took to the track on the Hankook Ventus Race in the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring and the Cup and Tourenwagen Trophy – more evidence of the brand’s popularity and ability to perform on the motorsport scene.
