De Wilde wins the Supercar Challenge race in Silverstone

02 Jun 2025

From 2nd to 3rd May, the 5.9-kilomere Grand Prix circuit at Silverstone (Great Britain) played host to the Supercar Challenge. The focal point of the weekend was a 90-minute race on the Saturday, which took place in dry conditions and produced plenty of drama. Brits Morgan and Marcus Short secured pole position in a Mosler MT900R – thanks in part to the impressive balance and plentiful grip provided by the Hankook Ventus Race in qualifying. In the race, John de Wilde from Belgium battled his way into the lead from third on the grid in a Porsche 992 GT3 Cup. With consistent pace and the stable performance window of his Hankook tyres, he was able to hold onto the lead through to the finish and claim overall victory. The Short brothers were second, with third place going to Dutchman Berry van Elk in a BMW M4 GT4 Evo.
