GR Cup Spain Navarra: Spectacular show in the north of Spain – Losada and Aguilera win on Hankook’s premium tyre
02 Jun 2025
Tension, changeable weather conditions, and a dramatic finale – the second event of this season’s GR Cup Spain at Circuito de Navarra (Spain) at the start of May left nothing to be desired. Spanish driver Daniel Losada made a big statement on the Saturday: starting from pole position, he produced a commanding display to control the race and emphatically demonstrate the strengths of the Hankook Ventus Race. With consistent grip and stable balance throughout the entire race, the tyre gave him the confidence he needed to claim a flawless lights-to-flag victory. On the Sunday, Marco Aguilera took centre stage: after a disappointing start, the young Spaniard pulled off some determined overtaking manoeuvres to work his way back to the front of the field. In the closing stages, he cleverly used the traction provided by his Hankook tyres to attack late and make up ground. A thrilling photo finish saw him cross the line just 0.001 seconds behind guest starter Alejandro Cachón. However, as Cachón was not eligible to score points, Aguilera celebrated his first win of the season and moved into the lead in the Junior competition. The next showdown is scheduled for 7th and 8th June at Circuito de Portimão in Portugal.
