Strong Hankook presence at the ADAC 24h Qualifiers at the Nürburgring

02 Jun 2025

Preparations are complete: from 24th to 25th May, Hankook Competition was at the ADAC 24h Qualifiers Nürburgring, which served as the final test before the legendary 24-hour race from 18th to 22nd June. The programme featured two four-hour races on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife – a challenging dress rehearsal in intense conditions. On Saturday, heavy rain led to a particularly slippery track, on which the Hankook tyre coped admirably with reliable grip despite some areas in which aquaplaning could have been an issue. The evening race ran into the dark and provided valuable experience for the night sections of the Eifel classic. On Sunday, changeable track conditions demanded precise decisions and a good feel for the grip level – both of which, the Hankook Ventus Race provided reliably. South Korean Jongkyum Kim, Dutchman Roelof Bruins, Germany’s Marco Holzer and Canadian Steven Cho were in action. The quartet also lined up in races two and three of the Nürburgring Endurance Series and are now excellently prepared for the 24-hour race on the Nordschleife.

Hyundai Motorsport, in cooperation with Target Competition, also put their trust in Hankook’s premium product in the SP3T class, in which they started with a Hyundai Motor Company Elantra N Cup. Two podiums – third on the Saturday and second on the Sunday- underlined the team’s impressive display. The support programme also featured the Rundstrecken-Challenge Nürburgring, in which all 135 cars started on the Hankook Ventus Race. Overall victory went to German Ralf Schall in a Porsche 991 GT3.
